French presidential contenders hold rival May Day rallies

Centrist presidential hopeful Emmanuel Macron is taking the offensive against far-right rival Marine Le Pen, saying her platform would lead to less freedom in France.

Marine Le Pen deliberately plagiarized verbatim parts of an address from a former presidential candidate, as a "wink" to him and the voters she hopes to peel away in a runoff, her spokesmen said Tuesday.

Le Pen said on France 2 television Monday that she would wait until after the German election this fall to discuss the euro issue with the European Union and to submit the issue to a referendum in France.

"The problem is, yet again, like in 2002, the French electorate is being morally blackmailed, not so much to vote for a Macron they may really be fond of but against Le Pen", he said.

Le Pen mentioned France's "three maritime borders" with the English Channel, North Sea and the Atlantic.

France far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has accused rival Emmanuel Macron of being a puppet of the world of finance and Islamic fundamentalists.

"I don't want to do so".

Dupont-Aignan shocked many French by agreeing to be Le Pen's prime minister if she wins the presidency. "If she becomes president, we will have a civil war", Mathurine said. Marine Le Pen considered the law of 2007- that increased the autonomy of French universities, in terms of budget, human resources, and real estate - a failure and does not wish to continue along that path. For instance, last week, as the Financial Times reported, Macron told union representatives, while on the campaign trail, that his government would "support businesses and retrain workers", and "use free market for the benefit of all".

Macron has made several symbolic stops on his campaign trail in recent weeks as if to warn voters of the dangers of nationalism and the extreme right.

While 295 jobs are threatened by outsourcing to Poland, Macron attempted to explain the benefits of globalization and promised he will do his best to secure their jobs - just like socialist candidate Francois Hollande promised ArcelorMittal workers in Florange, before the site definitely closed shortly after he was elected. They aligned themselves with the PS as it endorsed right-wing candidate Jacques Chirac to block FN candidate Jean-Marie Le Pen.

Ygal El Harrar, head of "En Marche!" in the United Kingdom, says the movement will not only campaign "against a racist party" but also to convince voters that they should vote for Macron rather than against Le Pen.

But the war remains a hard area for Ms Le Pen.

Two opinion polls showed Macron winning what is widely seen as France's most important election in decades with between 59 and 61 percent of the vote.

Both Ms Le Pen and her centrist opponent Emmanuel Macron are holding rallies today.

Standing on the bridge, Mr Macron hugged Bourram's son Said, who was nine years old when his father was killed.

In Paris's Place de la Republique, 28-year-old teacher Camille Delaye held a placard that read: "Abstention is a political act" - meaning he is so disgusted by both candidates, he will not vote on Sunday.

"I say to anyone who is listening: do not make the bad error of voting for the National Front because you would push the country towards a general conflagration and the ending to which no-one can predict", he said on the TF1 television channel.
