Google's latest offerings big on A.I

Google has come up with Google Assistant, Google Home, Google photos. Offering up to 180 teraflops of compute power, these new TPUs will be available through Google Cloud, allowing researchers and developers to use them to develop their own machine learning algorithms.

This includes appliances such as fridges, ovens, washers, dryers, and so on.

LG is expected to roll out support later this month, while GE has stated that support should have already begun rolling out. Notification Dots is a new way for developers to notify users about activity on the app, driving engagement.

While Google hasn't announced any hardware partners yet, it has said that all the future versions of Android will ship with an Android Go variant. The idea sounds easy but Google will have to work on it carefully so there won't be any compromise.

It comes as Google, Apple and Amazon.com Inc are competing to establish the dominant voice-powered digital assistant, which many in the industry believe will supplant keyboards and touch screens as a primary way that users interact with technology. A new blue icon will be seen on the top left corner, opening which will get you the apps in categories which are Assistant-enabled. Unlike Android Pay which is limited to Android devices, Google's new API will allow any app and website to use the payment credentials stored in your Google account.

Google made a big deal out of Google Lens at its I/O 2017 opening keynote, and if it works as is claimed then it's something with which we can all get onboard. This combats the problem of Android apps that install as benign and later download malicious components. The users will further be asked "Pasting the address in Google Maps".
