Anita Pallenberg, muse for The Rolling Stones, dead at 75

Without Pallenberg there would be no Kate Moss. It would lead to a relationship with Stones guitarist Brian Jones, which Pallenberg said soon turned violent.

Anita Pallenberg was in a relationship with Keith Richards from 1967 to 1979 and they had three children together: Marlon, Angela (whose nickname Dandelion inspired the Stones song of the same name), and son, Tara, who died in his crib just 10 weeks after his birth in 1976. She left a lasting impression on Keith Richards, who recalled that "she knew everything and she could say it in five languages". She also dated the guitarist Brian Jones and was rumoured to have been romantically involved with frontman Mick Jagger.

Throughout the 1960s, Ms. Pallenberg seemed to be everywhere. In her later years, she got into gardening (which was fitting for the muse who helped inspire "Dead Flowers") and kept acting. He started wearing her scarves, blouses, jackets and jewellery. The blonde Pallenberg and the dark and tousled Richards often looked like negative images of each other. In 2001, Pallenberg guest starred on Absolutely Fabulous with another Rolling Stones associate Marianne Faithfull. She was believed to be 73, but some accounts gave her age as 75. He is reportedly devastated today and indeed must be starting to feel like the last man standing. "I will love you forever, dearest Anita", Buell wrote.

In her later years, she took classes in textiles, designed clothes, gardened, and painted.

Pallenberg battled drug addiction for much of her life but said in 2014 that she had been sober from drugs for 14 years. Being a "muse" may sound lovely, but it is an essentially passive role.

Pallenberg was born on April 6, 1942.

"I was lucky to be around in Rome in 1960 just as La Dolce Vita and all that was happening", she told The Times in 2010. Pallenberg rose to worldwide fame as part of the ultra bohemian traveling troupe of ur-rock royalty, with social ties that stretched from the Dolce Vita set in Rome to Andy Warhol's factory. She was expelled from boarding school, aged sixteen, and went work as a model, travelling across Europe and the USA, before arriving at Andy Warhol's Factory. She did. In November 1966, the London press printed scandalous photos of Brian in a Nazi uniform with Anita kneeling at his feet.
