Hot New Limited Edition Aston Martin V8 and V12 Vantage Revealed

Aston Martin Vantage AMR more money more motorsport vibes

Meet the entry-level products of Aston Martin's brand new AMR (Aston Martin Racing) range, the Vantage V8 AMR and its even more exclusive V12 cousin.

Production is going to be limited to 300 cars, with 100 of them getting the V12 engine upgraded by 30 horsepower to 595 hp whereas the other 200 units will feature the smaller V8 rated at 430 hp. The first are special edition models with minor changes, but AMR Pro cars are much more heavily biased towards track driving and are produced by Aston Martin's "Q" division.

Both cars come with a sevenspeed automated sequential manual transmission with paddle shifters but either can be specified with manual transmission instead - six-speed for the V8 auto and seven-speed for V12 model. That makes it especially sad that none of the 200 V8 models, nor the 100 V12s, will be allocated for the USA market.

The pair represent road-biased but higher-performance versions of the popular sports auto siblings, with special materials, colours and even a range of dedicated accessories, because matching luggage, helmets and action cameras are apparently what Aston Martin buyers want. The Halo Pack substitutes one of the four two-tone colour schemes for a Stirling Green paint job, complemented by Lime Green accents. All cars get carbon fibre seats as well as a combination of leather and Alcantara for the coupes while the roadsters feature an all-leather finish.

Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, said of the Vantage AMR: "It's a real thrill to see our first AMR model go into production".

Models with a V8 engine sit on five-spoke wheels and V12s have ten-spoke rims, reports Autocar. The cars' interior colour schemes are matched to the exterior design.

With a little more cash to splash, you can add an aero kit that brings a little of the AMR Pro madness with carbonfibre components including a massive fixed rear wing, while the titanium exhaust sounds like a must-have item for its 14kg weight advantage and "sensational" sound.

"As our most agile and athletic road auto, and our long-time representative in the world of GT racing, it is the ideal model with which to introduce the exciting AMR range". These are people who love our cars for their motorsport pedigree, and for their unmistakable dynamic and emotional qualities. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2017.

The Vantage AMR will make its public debut during this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hours race, although the auto is already on sale. The V8 Roadster starts from £107,500 and V12 Roadster £158,500.
