Paul George traded to Oklahoma City Thunder

Report: Nuggets express interest in free agent point guard George Hill

Hours after the Thunder acquired All-Star Paul George in a shocking trade with the Pacers Friday night, the OKCPD tweeted out a sarcastic response to all the Indy residents claiming the deal was a heist.

The person requested anonymity because the deal hadn't been publicly announced.

George, who has averaged 18.1 points over parts of 7 National Basketball Association seasons and normed a career-best 23.7 points last season, had previously indicated wanting to play for his hometown team Lakers.

Boston reportedly wanted to land Gordon Hayward in free agency and then trade for Paul George.

Sure, this is likely a one-year rental for Oklahoma City with Paul George, especially since his desires to play for the Lakers are well known.

Rumors are the Boston Celtics were stunned to hear of the trade as they were preparing to set up a trade with IN for George.

As was reported by USA TODAY Sports recently, George will also keep an open mind about the possibility of re-signing with the Thunder following this upcoming season. While the Thunder have pitched a long-term deal to Westbrook, and now shown they are willing to bring in more talent to help build a victor, he might wait to see what George will do before deciding his own future.

Durant left Oklahoma City a year ago for the Warriors and Westbrook last season became only the second player in National Basketball Association history to average a triple double of points, rebounds and assists for a full season. Sabonis averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in his rookie season with the Oklahoma City previous year.

Meanwhile, big man Blake Griffin is also reportedly confirmed to sign a 5-year deal with his team Los Angeles Clippers. They are eligible to be unrestricted free agents in the summer of 2018. Which three first-round picks did Boston offer on draft night - and with what protections? Paul George will make $19 million this season before he hits free agency next year.
