Lost chance to beat Bolt will 'haunt' De Grasse, coach says

Usain Bolt is a genius like Muhammad Ali says Lord Coe

Virat Kohli wished Usain Bolt luck for his final race and his future endeavours.

Days before the IAAF World Championships are set to start in London, Andre De Grasse, one of Canada's best track athletes, has pulled out.

Juliet Freud, head of event planning at The Brewery commented, "Such a prestigious occasion demanded a space to match, and The Porter Tun room provided exactly that".

With the 2017 World Championships starting this week, it is of course our last chance to see the fastest man on the planet, Usain Bolt, in action. "I hope that he takes heed, takes his time to heal and hopefully everything goes smoothly so that he can get back on track next season".

"Everyone knows I'm always talking about [playing] football, I'm waiting on a call from Mourinho", Bolt said at a promotional event with sponsors Puma in London.

His target in London is clear - to sign off with a fourth 100m title and a fifth 4x100m relay gold - taking his world haul to 13, to add to his eight Olympic golds.

Not only had the 22-year-old, a triple medalist at last year's Olympics, suggested airily that Bolt might be slowing down but his team had also said the Jamaican's camp ensured he was kept out of their recent 100m race in Monaco, a suggestion they denied vehemently.

Kipyegon and Dibaba are both in the field in London along with the Netherlands' Sifan Hassan, who has the three fastest times of the year, and Semenya.

"I heard from [De Grasse] 10 minutes afterward, he was very stoic", said McMillan, who did not accompany De Grasse to Munich.

"There's two stories here: it's Bolt's last major championships, and then from a Canadian perspective, this was the opportunity for a Canadian boy to go out there and race him and potentially beat him in his last race". "I said, 'I think we have something here'".

"If I mention growth, I want to compete against number one and two in the world, and that is throughout all the distances I do".

"I don't think it gets any worse than that", he said, referring to the problems in Russian Federation that left the sport at rock bottom. Kohli who is playing a Test series in Sri Lanka right now posted a video on his Twitter account to send across a special message to Usain Bolt.

He profited when Bolt fouled out of the 2011 World Championships and did the 100m-200m double in his compatriot's absence in the Jamaican trials this year.

"He's basically just shrugging his shoulders and saying, 'Well it happens, I can't do anything about it now".
