North Korea develops its nuclear programme "at an alarming rate"

CIA director predicts more North Korea tests

The US Central Intelligence Agency Director Mike Pompeo says he wouldn't be surprised if North Korea tested another missile, given that it had two tests in July.

In an interview with Fox News Sunday he added: "They're moving towards that [goal] at an ever-alarming rate".

"Each time they test another missile, or if they should conduct a nuclear weapons text, they develop expertise, they expend the envelope".

Now it was on countries like China and Russian Federation along with USA allies like South Korea and Japan to work in tandem to get nuclear weapons out of the region.

Friday: The US president warns that military solutions are "locked and loaded" should North Korea "act unwisely".

North Korea announced on Thursday plans to fire missiles near the US Pacific territory of Guam, even though there was no indication an attack is imminent.

There is no imminent threat of a nuclear war with North Korea, the top United States intelligence official says, amid growing tensions between the countries.

"There's nothing imminent today", Mr. Pompeo said.

"The U.S. military is locked and loaded every day", McMaster said, repeating Trump's threat. "What he does is he asks us to make sure that we have viable options for him - options that combine diplomatic, economic and military capabilities".

"This administration has made our policy very clear". In response, North Korea announced a detailed plan to fire ballistic missiles towards Guam, a US territory in the Pacific.

Pompeo said the rhetoric from Trump was geared at sending a message to North Korea and letting the isolated nation know that the United States policy of "strategic patience" had come to an end.

"President Trump inherited a mess", Graham said.

Arreaza accused Trump of "warmongering" and said Trump's comments represented "the United States' systematic aggression against Venezuela".

Clapper also called for a de-escalation in rhetoric from President Donald Trump, because of Kim Jong Un's unpredictability.

White House officials have insisted the investigation is not created to apply additional pressure on China as it relates to North Korea despite the president's previous remarks that he would be more amenable on trade if China stopped Pyongyang's nuclear program.
