Olivier Giroud confident of having "important" role at Arsenal this season

Although Giroud scored a precious goal he reiterated his desire to start for the Gunners

"And the longer you stay at a club, the more hard it becomes because you know just how much it will affect people, what a bad weekend they will have, perhaps they will cry. And when you don't win, you know, other problems come to light".

Olivier Giroud was the man of the moment for Arsenal in the opening Premier League game on Friday evening, as the French striker headed home a dramatic winning goal after being introduced off the bench.

Lacazette is the clear first-choice, despite Giroud being the incumbent central striker, which leads to the question: which one is the better option for Arsene Wenger?

Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry said: "You can talk about evolution or revolution at Arsenal, I call it stagnation".

Every Arsenal fan has a favourite Thierry Henry goal - including Thierry Henry himself.

'I think Lacazette is going to play in the centre. "The Foxes" boss has seen numerous players be linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium in recent times, with Riyad Mahrez, Demarai Gray, Tom Lawrence and Danny Drinkwater all subjects of various reports. "Very neat, very clean, he does whatever the game is asking him to do". And there is nothing worse than when players feel like you are not totally committed.

Thierry Henry watched Manchester United destroy West Ham on Sunday and saw elements of the Arsenal Invincibles side that went a whole league season unbeaten in 2003/04. "That happened because they needed to score goals and create chaos", he explained. But based on how they played, I saw that too often previous year.

"When the big man comes back and hopefully he is going to come back soon, Alexis Sanchez, he is going to play on the left".
