Mark Wahlberg is now the best paid actor in Hollywood

Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan are among the world's 10 highest paid actors list

Invincible and The Departed fame Mark Wahlberg is the world's highest paid actor in Forbes list for 2017. He is ahead of Dwayne Johnson, who occupied the first place past year, and especially Emma Stone, actress the best paid of Hollywood, but so much less than his colleague. By comparison, the top 16 men each earned more than $20 million. Nevertheless, the actor received a fixed compensation, so he was not affected by the film's performance. Emma Stone won an Academy Award in the last 12 months and earned less than half of what Mark got during a year in which he appeared in "Transformers: The Last Knight", which got lukewarm reviews at best.

Wahlberg elbows out last year's top-ranked star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (No. 2; $65 million).

She has now slid down to number three after Jennifer Aniston, who made 19 million pounds with comedies Mother's Day and Office Christmas Party. His big paycheck from "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" and Marvel's hit sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" catapulted him to the third spot of this year's highest-paid actors. "According to a 2016 study, women comprise just 28.7% of all speaking roles in movies and only a quarter of roles for characters over the age of 40-an ageism and lack of opportunity not facing Hollywood's leading men". Forbes pointed out, however, that Sandler has a lucrative deal with Netflix to produce his own movies, while Chan's earning mostly come from his productions in China. You have to reach the 15th place to find the first woman, the one who has dethroned Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone.

Last December, Depp was named as the most overpaid actor for the second year running, as films such as Mortdecai and Alice Through The Looking Glass bombed at the box office. Rounding up the top five are Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis. But she still makes less than the world's 14 richest actors. Drop a comment below.

The highest paid actress doesn't come remotely close to Wahlberg - or to the other top 13 men in Forbes' list, for that matter.
