Rams Defeat Cowboys 35-30, Improve to 3-1

Jared Goff LA Rams

Garrett sidestepped a question on whether the Cowboys would do something similar Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams in their first home game since the display. This week, the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) will be back home in AT&T Stadium as they host the Los Angeles Rams (2-1) this Sunday.

Not including last Thursday's Color Rush game, for which the Rams wore bright yellow jerseys and alternate helmets, they had worn white jerseys for every game in 2017 (preseason included) before Sunday's game.

Off their 28-17 win over the Cardinals at Arizona, the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys are 7-point favorites (via the consensus at SportsBook Review) to run their record to 3-1. To put the scoring outburst in better perspective, two playoff teams from a year ago - Giants (37) and Bengals (33) have yet to reach 40 points in three combined games, while the Rams have hit that number in one game, twice already.

The Rams have their own standout running back in Todd Gurley and he is off to a better start with 241 rushing yards and six total touchdowns (four rushing, two passing).

This will be his first game in Dallas since the team fired him. Dallas marched 75 yards in less than five minutes and took a 24-13 lead when Prescott threw a 10-yard touchdown to receiver Brice Butler.

Donald is an elite lineman still working into football shape after his training camp holdout and a breakout game looms on the horizon.

These two teams have had a competitive history between them in their all time series. Now he's trying to cement himself as one of the top QB's in the league.

Last preseason, this match up was the coming out party for Dak Prescott as he lit up the Gregg Williams version of the Rams defense. The Cowboys bounced back after a disappointing dud against the Broncos. Ezekiel Elliott had nine carries for 45 yards in the first quarter, and added a second-quarter touchdown through the air.

Demarcus Lawrence has suddenly emerged as one of the best pass rushers in the league and last Monday night he nearly single handedly dominated the Arizona Cardinals offensive front, recording three sacks.

The Dallas coach praised his team's ability to balance game preparation with multiple discussions over the Trump-fueled issues, despite the slow start.

As impressive as that was, had the Rams scored a touchdown instead of kicking a field goal, it would've put the game well out of reach for Dallas.

"I know Dak, he's tremendous", Goff said. Lawrence said. "I want to be here forever". The call was held up on review and was the second of coach Sean McVay's two failed challenges in the first half, resulting in him being unable to challenge the rest of the game. DT Maliek Collins had two sacks against Arizona for second career multi-sack game.
