"Wisdom of the Crowd" Canceled, Will End After 13 Episodes

Actually, scratch that, his CBS crime procedural Wisdom of the Crowd has been cancelled amidst allegations of sexual harassment surrounding the actor. For the sake of any fans who have already been hooked over just nine episodes, we have to hope that Episode 13 doesn't end on a killer cliffhanger.

The Hollywood Reporter said the cancellation comes after the freshman show had low ratings and its lead actor made headlines for allegedly sexually harassing and abusing several women in recent years.

Jeremy Piven is officially cancelled.

The series had an average of about 8.3 million viewers tuning in every week, although its high ratings may have been tied to its time slot.

Granted, the CBS drama - which centers on a tech genius (Jeremy Piven) who creates a crowd-sourcing hub to help solve crime following the death of his daughter - has never been a top performer for the network. After the first woman came forward, Piven issued a statement that said in part, "I unequivocally deny the appalling allegations being peddled about me". Piven wrote on his Twitter account, adding, "Thanks for all the love, going to miss it as well".

Advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby alleged in an interview with People that in 2003 Piven pinned her down and ejaculated on her in his hotel room. Meanor claimed Piven pinned her down at her Los Angeles home in 1995 and Taneie accused him of grabbing her breast and genitals in 2009, during the making of Entourage. Sitcom Me, Myself and I was yanked from the schedule early.
