UCF head coach Scott Frost accepts Nebraska job

Nebraska will hire former Husker Scott Frost as program’s 33rd head football coach

College football insider reports that UCF HC Scott Frost has agreed to a seven-year, $35 million contract to become Nebraska's next head coach.

Frost, who was a quarterback for the Cornhuskers when they won a share of the 1997 national championship, is expected to replace Mike Riley as the team's head coach, ESPN reported.

Frost will be the first person since Frank Solich to both play and coach at Nebraska.

Frost led UCF to a 62-55 victory over Memphis on Saturday in the AAC Championship Game.

The Knights are 11-0 and coming off a 49-42 win over USF.

Frost was the unanimous selection for the AAC Coach of the Year and is now a semifinalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year. He took over a UCF program that had been winless in 2015 and went 6-7, setting the stage for this year's success.

He then went to OR to work as receivers coach under Kelly, and when Helfrich took over as head coach in 2013, he appointed Frost as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
