CBS 46 News Anchor Amanda Davis Dead At Age 62 After Suffer Massive Stroke 28122017

The entire family at CBS46 is mourning the loss of morning show anchor Amanda Davis, who passed away after suffering a stroke at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. She was rushed to a hospital and underwent treatment there before she died Wednesday. " On Tuesday, while on her way to celebrate his life, Davis suffered a stroke".

The veteran anchor worked at Fox5 Atlanta for 26 years and retired in 2013.

WGCL-TV revealed that their former employee passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones, and also stated that during this time of grief, Davis' family is "asking for privacy at this hard time".

He said her colleagues were still struggling to deal with the news on Thursday.

During her career, Davis has won multiple Southeast Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award. She wrote on Facebook on Christmas Eve about how hard it is to get through the holidays after losing a loved one saying, "Stay strong, keep praising the Lord".

Other details about her death are not clear. On Wednesday, according to USA Today, she passed away surrounded by family members.

"'I'm glad she was able to make the comeback she did, ' said former 11Alive anchor Brenda Wood".

"Saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Atlanta news icon, Amanda Davis", Reed added. "Her passion for local news is unmatched", said CBS46 news director Frank Volpicella, at the time of her joining the network in 2016. She will be missed by many.

Davis joined CBS46 as a morning anchor in January. She helped launch "Good Day Atlanta" as a host in 1992 before going to evenings.
