Donald Trump and Theresa May to meet in Switzerland

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Trump looks forward to meeting with May 'to further strengthen the USA -U.K.

But Downing Street has now said a slot for talks has been arranged.

"Topics on the agenda of the working meeting (of President Berset) with Indian Prime Minister Modi on Monday include business and trade matters, particularly the ongoing negotiations on a BIPA and the envisaged free trade agreement between the EFTA and India", the Swiss government said.

Trump said last week that he "canceled" a visit to London to formally open the new USA embassy because the old site had been sold for "peanuts" and the new building, in an "off location", was a "bad deal".

It was earlier reported that the U.S. president had not scheduled any time in his itinerary to meet with the British PM following recent tensions between the two leaders.

The joint announcement from Downing Street and the White House was made after reports emerged suggesting Mr Trump would snub Mrs May at the event.

The Swiss government statement on topics for the meeting of the two leaders did not mention black money, an issue which has been central to most of the high-level deliberations between the two countries.

However, in November, the prime minister criticised Trump for retweeting three inflammatory videos posted online by the far-right group, Britain First.

Anger towards the United States president escalated further following reports of allegedly racist language used by the President in the Oval office during a briefing about immigration.

Since taking office a year ago, he has doubled down on his "America First" agenda, which stands in stark contrast to the globalisation and regulatory integration popular among the Davos crowd and which Merkel and Macron are expected to defend.

Deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa says that he will tell investors at the World Economic Forum that government is dead serious about fighting corruption.
