Princess Eugenie is engaged to Jack Brooksbank. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, were "very pleased and wish the couple all the best", according to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson. Jack, 31, proposed to Eugenie during a trip to Nicaragua earlier this month without a ring.

If the name sounds familiar, that's because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are tying the knot there on May 19.

The princess' engagement ring, revealed in the official engagement photos, features a blush-colored padparadscha sapphire center stone wreathed in white diamonds.

Sarah Ferguson, the duchess of York, expressed her excitement about her daughter's engagement in a series of tweets, writing in one, "Total joy".

As @MajestyMagazine just pointed out to me there is a striking similarity between Princess Eugenie's engagement ring and her mother @SarahTheDuchess's engagement ring.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank announced their happy engagement news on Monday, and later appeared on The One Show to talk about the moment Jack popped the question during their holiday in Nicaragua earlier in the year.

The autumn 2018 wedding of Eugenie and Brooksbank will continue an exciting year for the royal family. Their daughters are Princesses Beatrice, 29, and Princess Eugenie.

She said: "Whenever we used to meet foreign people who were struggling with it, my mum and I would help them by saying, 'It's like Use Your Knees'".

Majesty magazine points out a similarity between Princess Eugenie's ring and her mom, Sarah, Duchess of York's ring.

It was found after Meghan and Harry's engagement announcement that they were related, having the same great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather. She said: 'We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend.

Despite dating for seven years, it was "a complete surprise", she said.

"What's awesome about it is that it changes colour from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie", he said to The One Show.

Jack's parents Nicola and George said they were "delighted".
