Silverware would make Chelsea's season a success, says Hazard

Hazard Champions League games hindering Chelsea

Antonio Conte's job at Stamford Bridge is hanging by a thread.

While sitting fourth in the Premier League and having qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League may be most clubs' dreams, its nearly been a season of nightmares for Chelsea.

"We changed a couple of things, we lost players, we bought some new ones and every year is different", Hazard told ESPN FC, with the Blues having replaced Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic with Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea were previously far more secure in the top four, but after winning just one of our last five Premier League games, we are in danger of missing out on Champions League football for the second time in the past three years.

"That's why we love football".

Despite their disappointing form, Hazard still believes Chelsea can look back on this season as a success if they keep fighting in the cup competitions.

"But we know that the Premier League is very hard, we have already lost a few games this year and we have three months ahead of us".

Hazard added that "mysterious" Messi is in superb and stunning form for his side, emphasizing that the Catalan giants will not even feel the absence of the former Barcelona and Brazilian forward, Neymar who now plays for PSG. "You never know what's going to happen, especially in England".

"From the start of my experience with Chelsea they try to stay behind me in every game and they continue to do this and I am happy and proud for this".
