DREAMERS DITCH DEMS: DACA Recipient BLASTS PELOSI, Thanks TRUMP for 'Leadership'

People protest for immigration reform that will allow DACA recipients a path to citizenry through the Dream Act which has been in legislative debate since 2011. Los Angeles Jan. 22 2018

Kelly discounted the possibility that Trump would announce a temporary extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program beyond March 5, when its protections could expire. That's a fine argument, but nobody is really arguing that Trump doesn't, ultimately, have the authority to end this program.

"Today's ruling reflects. the illegality of the Trump administration's move to rescind DACA".

The DACA amendment was sponsored by a half dozen GOP Senators who want a plan that runs along the stated goals of President Trump.

For the second time in as many months, a federal judge has barred the Trump administration from ending the Obama-era DACA program next month.

"Our main conclusion from this paper is that future labor market opportunities or just opportunities in general really matter", said Elira Kuka, one of the authors of the paper, titled "Do Human Capital Decisions Respond to the Returns to Education?"

"I'm Christian, I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things - I'm like, 'Jesus didn't say that.' Scary", she said. "As such, it was an unlawful circumvention of Congress, and was susceptible to the same legal challenges that effectively ended DAPA", O'Malley said.

Undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children, known as DREAMers, protest in front of the Senate side of the U.S. Capitol on December 6, 2017, to urge Congress to pass a bill to protect them from deportation.

Garaufis is the second federal judge that has decided on behalf of DACA recipients.

"Defendants indisputably can end the DACA program", Garaufis wrote.

The Supreme Court on Friday is due to consider whether to take up the administration's appeal of the San Francisco ruling. The Supreme Court has not said yet if it will take the case.

Congress is trying to pass legislation before the DACA program ends March 5, when about 1,000 participants a day will begin losing deportation protections and work permits, making them vulnerable to deportation.

"DACA was implemented unilaterally after Congress declined to extend these benefits to this same group of illegal aliens", he said.

NY state attorney-general Eric Schneiderman, who leads a coalition of 17 attorneys general who sued to protect DACA and Dreamers, hailed Garaufis's decision as a "victory". Chuck Grassley and others that includes the President's proposal to grant a pathway to citizenship to the young undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children who were covered by DACA, but also includes upwards of $25 billion for border security, hardline immigration enforcement and substantial cuts to legal immigration - the latter part of which has been uniformly opposed by Democrats and some Republicans.
