The damning report revealed the gross conduct of former team president and CEO Terdema Ussery, who repeatedly requested sex from employees and allegedly touched women's legs during meetings, as well as other forms of sexual harassment.

'Adam would hate to be hearing that. I'll try to give them a chance to improve themselves because I think helping people improve their lives, helping people engage with people they may fear or may not understand, and helping people realize that while we all have our prejudices and bigotries ...

"It's not a situation we condone", Cuban told Sports Illustrated.

The Mavericks are 18-40 on the season, which is now the third-worst record in the National Basketball Association.

The fine comes one day after an explosive Sports Illustrated report outlined "a corporate culture rife with misogyny and predatory sexual behavior" in the Mavs' organization.

On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated reported on allegations of sexual harassment in the management of the Mavericks.

Since the report came out, Cuban said he is going to make changes but also acknowledged that he chose to allow Snead to keep covering the team twice after separate domestic violence incidents, according to a report by ESPN. Sneed was not allowed to be with any other woman in the organization or a business setting after the second incident, and he was also forbidden from dating coworkers, according to Cuban.

Ussery said in a statement to SI: "I am deeply disappointed that anonymous sources have made such outright false and inflammatory accusations against me".

Speaking on Monday's episode of the House Call with Dr. J podcast, Cuban said it was the Mavericks' best interest to lose games on objective and improve their chances of landing a higher draft pick, a strategy known as tanking.

Earl K. Sneed, the team reporter for Mavericks.com, was accused in 2014 of hitting a female colleague with whom he had a relationship, just two years after he had pleaded guilty to assaulting a girlfriend, according to the SI report. Terdema [Ussery] was hired before I got here, and the assertions you made were news to me. The commissioner laid out the NBA's "commitment to providing employees with a safe and inclusive work environment".

Women complained to SI that Pittman was unhelpful about their reports of Ussery's behavior.

Saying that it "takes these allegations extremely seriously", Cuban's team announced it was hiring an outside law firm to conduct "a thorough and independent investigation". The league said it would "closely monitor" the investigation. 'I'm embarrassed, to be honest with you, that it happened under my ownership, and it needs to be fixed'. I'll send them to training, I'll send them to sensitivity training.
