Russia OK'd attack on United States troops in Syria

Syrian babies receive treatment for a suspected chemical attack at a makeshift clinic on the rebel-held village of al Shifuniyah in the eastern Ghouta region on 25 February

"The addition of fifth generation fighters into Syria would certainly not be in keeping with Russia's announced force drawdown", Eric Pahon, a Defense Department spokesperson, said.

First it was Russian mercenaries who were apparently killed in a February 7 clash with U.S-led coalition forces in eastern Syria. The list of adversaries Russian Federation would need Su-57 fighters to combat is uncomfortably short.

She repeated earlier statements of how USA military personnel were on the "deconfliction phone" with their Russian counterparts as the attack got underway as well as during the counter-attack.

Moscow may also be putting on a show of strength, signaling that it's not intimidated by the superior American fighters in the theater, or even sending a message that it has the option of escalating the next encounter between USA and Russian planes.

The deployment of two Su-57 fighter aircraft, which were filmed landing at Russia's Khmeimim airbase along the Mediterranean coast, would represent the latest high-tech military system Russian Federation has exhibited in Syria. "We call on all parties, however, to remain focused on defeating ISIS, de-escalating and resolving the Syrian conflict, and protecting innocent civilians".

A Russian tycoon believed to control Russian mercenaries who attacked United States troops and Kurd allies in Deir Ezzor told Syrian officials he would give Bashar al-Assad a "good surprise" days ahead of the assault, the Washington Post has reported. "They helped the Syrian army shatter large, well-equipped terrorist groups", Putin said. The Su-35, a modernized version of the 1980s-era Su-27 Flanker, is a highly effective aircraft but lacks stealth and is not a fifth generation fighter. "First-stage state trials are over".

Russian Federation has been swift to procure and test the fifth-generation-like aircraft in light of the F-35's initial operating capability, which it achieved in 2016.

This move comes despite Russian President Vladimir Putin's vow to narrow down his country's military presence in Syria.

CNN previously reported the Russians were working for a paramilitary company, and they advanced on an oil and gas field controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, a US-backed militia; despite an effort to establish communication through US-Russia deconfliction channels, the US airstrikes began, killing numerous Russians. "Our adversaries are watching us, they're learning from us".

Earlier this week, Al Hussani reported about the deployment of the first two Su-57 fighters in Hmeymin, something that is yet to be confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry. However, the National Interest notes that Russian Federation has a preference for earlier battlefield testing than the USA and its allies.
