Miami Dolphins will cut Ndamukong Suh

NFL Rumors: Dolphins To Release Ndamukong Suh As Part Of 'Culture Change'

The Miami Dolphins are planning to release defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, league sources told ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

As reported earlier, the Dolphins have told linebacker Lawrence Timmons he will be released prior to the start of the new league year on Wednesday.

"Stay tuned", Suh said in a video posted on Twitter.

Suh's $26.1 million dollar salary in 2018 accounts for almost 15 percent of the team's salary cap, making him the highest paid player on the Dolphins' roster in 2018.

He was named to four Pro Bowls while receiving an unbelievable three First-Team All-Pro nods during those five initial seasons.

We don't know for sure that Suh is in town to meet with the Seahawks, but obviously the timing here makes one think that could be the case.

Six months later, the Dolphins made the inevitable official, cutting the veteran linebacker whose short time with Miami will be remembered only for his weird behavior.

If Suh is released or traded it will be the biggest move of the Dolphins off-season that dwarfs the trade of Jarvis Landry. Darlington called the move a "culture change".

Even so, Miami will be faced with dead cap hits of $9.1 million each of the next two years, per

ESPN recently discussed teams that might target Suh and the Bills were one of eight teams listed by the site. Should the Dolphins designate him a post-June 1 cut, they'll save $17 million in 2018 and $19 million in 2019. However, he's still a highly-disruptive, run-stuffing interior lineman and most recently earned All-Pro accolades in 2016.

In the end, Suh received $60 million for his three seasons of work in Miami. The 31-year-old finished with 29 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 16 games. Over three seasons with the Dolphins, he recorded 108 tackles and 15.5 sacks.
