Sky Sports come to decision over Carra's MNF future

Sky are set for talks with Carragher who has apologised to the 14-year-old girl

Suspended Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher winced and issued a grovelling apology as he was forced to watch vile footage of him spitting at a 14-year-old girl.

In the clip, the United fan rolled down the window of the passenger seat, where his daughter was sitting, and taunted Carragher about Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

As the dad beeped his horn at Jamie, shouting, "Hey Jamie, good result, 2-1", Carragher was spotted spitting towards the man from the window of his auto, his saliva hitting the man's 14-year-old daughter in the passenger seat instead.

The 40-year-old former England worldwide was summoned for talks with Sky Sports who had earlier described his actions as "unacceptable". He had been there working for Sky Sports at Manchester United's game against Liverpool.

"[It was] a moment of madness that really is hard for me to explain".

That meant Carragher was not involved in Sky Sports' coverage of Monday night's Premier League game between Manchester City and Stoke. I have brought shame on the name of Sky.

He apologised but Sky said it "takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie's actions".

"Again, all I can do right now is apologise as much as possible".

"The biggest regret is for a 14-year-old girl to be caught in the middle of this of my altercation with the father".

Sky said Carragher's actions were "well below the standards we expect of our people".

A Sky Sports spokesman said: "It's unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie". I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag.

According to the Mirror, Carragher phoned the girl and her father on Sunday night and said: "I just want to apologise and I hope you are OK".

In a live interview on Sky News on Monday afternoon, Carragher, who called the family on Sunday, said: "It was a moment of madness that is hard to explain". "I've made mistakes in my 25 year career, but this is the worst one".

But Shreeves was having none of it and said: "No I haven't". I have a daughter of the same age and if someone had done that to her I don't know how I would respond. The former worldwide footballer reacted by spitting him.
