John Oliver spoofs Pence picture book about bunny

The Pence family’s new

Oliver's book, which he announced over the weekend, is called "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents a Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo".

Pence's family is releasing a children's book Monday centered around their Instagram-famous pet, titled "Marlon Bundo's Day in the Life of the Vice President".

"So congratulations, Pence, you even managed to ruin Marlon Bundo", Oliver said yesterday on 'Last Week Tonight' before unleashing his plan to get even.

The segment also highlighted Pence's support for the SPLC designated hate group Focus on the Family, whose website has numerous anti-LGBT articles including "When a Loved One Says, "I'm Gay": The Stages of Grief".

All proceeds go to The Trevor Project and AIDs United.

And if you're not sure why Oliver detests Pence so much, find out why in the clip below. Note, the video has strong language and is uncensored. That didn't sit too well with Oliver so, as he does, he published his own competing children's book about the "BOTUS" (yes, that's bunny of the United States). They will be touring the country and, of course, visiting Focus on the Family's headquarters to promote the book.

"Pence's reputation is as the old, boring, principled contrast to Donald Trump", but he's actually morally pretty wily and "exceptionally good at dodging tough questions", Oliver said. "We are so grateful to be the beneficiary of books sold. Sweet, funny, and beautifully illustrated, this book is dedicated to every bunny who has ever felt different". His "Marlon Bundo" audiobook (Partially Important Productions) features narration from such celebrity voices as Jim Parsons, John Lithgow, RuPaul, Ellie Kemper and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

"Marlon Bundo is the most likeable thing about an otherwise unlikeable man", Oliver said during the segment.

The book is available now from BetterBundoBook.com, ChronicleBooks.com and Amazon. With its message of tolerance and advocacy, this charming children's book explores issues of same sex marriage and democracy. "Sometimes you can't deny that there's one thing you like about someone". Marlon Bundo wants to marry that boy bunny, and no silver-haired stink bug is going to stand in their way.
