Kid confidently calls 'game' before LeBron James hits buzzer-beater

LeBron James right celebrates with Cleveland teammate Cedi Osman after his game-winner

LeBron James continues to add to his legacy with moments like his game-winner against the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night, giving his Cavs a 3-2 lead in the series. LeBron barely had time to take in the moment before he was mobbed by his teammates.

"The inbounds pass was on a different side of the floor and also I didn't have a chance to put the ball on the floor", James said of Wednesday's game-winning shot. "Felt like I was a kid all over again, playing basketball at my house with makeshift hoops and my socks as a basketball and making the noise, so that's what it felt like", he said.

James switched onto the Pacers guard. Luckily, James' efficiency and them going 26-of-27 from the free-throw stripe saved them in this one, along with their defense. The Pacers have actually been the better team in most of these games, as they're getting consistent play from several guys and are shooting a much higher percentage from the field.

"It's one game", James said, going back to his shot. It capped a performance in which Cleveland needed all of his 44 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 98-95 nail-biter, and it could prove the decisive blow in a hard-fought battle with Indiana.

James had enough to worry about with the Pacers that he didn't want to discuss close friend Dwyane Wade's future. James has done it to the Pacers three times. The Pacers can point to plenty of other reasons they lost besides the referees. James was always going to be the Next Big Thing in the National Basketball Association and showed flashes of his unique brilliance throughout the early stages of his career, but the 2007 Playoffs was where he announced his arrival in the history books.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding James as the offseason gets underway. But this was back-to-brute basics.

The Pacers showed signs of vitality early, attacking the basket where the Cavs are especially vulnerable without a legitimate rim protector (Tristan Thompson had another DNP as Tyronn Lue again left him sidelined to mull over what he'd done to Khloe).

Domantas Sabonis led IN with 22 points off the bench while the Cavaliers hit 26 of their 27 free throws. This was crucial, given Kevin Love's abysmal 2-of-11 shooting (just 1 three), and JR Smith, the usual three point barnburner, being held to a grand total of 0 points off 8 shots.

But having James is some difference-maker.

"J.R. was fantastic", James said. "It's a chess game throughout four quarters with their coaching staff and our coaching staff and their players and our players".

"[Then] trust what I've always worked on".
