Giuliani says no decision on Trump-Russia interview soon

Giuliani Resigns From Law Firm Amid Tensions Over Comments About Trump

Rudy Giuliani is leaving his job at a powerhouse law firm, citing the "pressing demands" of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 presidential election.

Shortly after Rudy Giuliani's resignation from his law firm Thursday, Greenberg Traurig denied a claim from President Donald Trump's new attorney that he would use his firm's funds to finance similar payments to that made by Michael Cohen to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Specifically, the law firm went out of its way to debunk Giuliani's claim that lawyers often make hush money payment on behalf of their clients without ever informing their clients of the clandestine deals.

Meanwhile senior White House Counsel Donald McGahn (not part of Trump's private team handling the Mueller probe) is also believed to be in the departure lounge.

Giuliani told CNN on Friday that this case was not related to his work with the president and that he "did it as a favor". Second, no one outside of Giuliani actually thought that the Mueller case was going to wrap up in two weeks, or even a month.

Like another recently departed senior lawyer, John Dowd, Cobb was apprehensive about Trump facing an under-oath, personal grilling by Mueller for fear his loose-lipped, hubristic persona risked him perjuring himself.

At his law firm, the sentient denture suggested, such payments were standard practice. But on Thursday, the firm announced Giuliani's resignation, effective the day before.

"Michael would take care of things like this like I take care of this with my clients", Giuliani added.

Indeed, according to The New York Times, they were not pleased at all.

"What they're really trying to do is trap him into perjury, and we're not suckers", Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor, said during another Fox News interview. That's followed by Giuliani's recent interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, in which he says "Well we don't have to" comply with a subpoena, "he's the president of the United States". At least not without informing their client first.

The New York Times asked Greenberg Traurig several times to explain those remarks over the past week. "Speaking for ourselves, we would not condone payments of the nature alleged to have been made or otherwise without the knowledge and direction of a client". Incompetent, can't believe what a bad job he's doing.
