Sarah Sanders swipes back at report she's planning to leave White House

Sarah Huckabee Sanders reportedly planning to leave White House

Two senior White House communications officials are planning to depart their posts, including the public face of the White House, Sarah Sanders, according to a report published Wednesday.

The White House Office of Communications has been one of the most volatile of the Trump administration.

Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz said Thursday a CBS News report on White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders planning her departure was "weirdly speculative".

Even with a smaller than usual workforce, the Trump Administration's White House set a record in turnover rates, which now stands at 51 percent and President Donald Trump isn't even half-way through his first term in office.

"Can you imagine the horror these kids must be going through when they come across the border?"

The news outlet later updated its story to say Sanders and Shah did not reply before their story ran and declined to comment on the record afterwards. Some positions have never been filled. Trump has even eliminated positions altogether, consolidating the number of staffers while giving them each more work. Less than halfway through Mr. Trump's term, the turnover rate stands at 51 percent, according to the Brookings Institution.

The Trump administration has a large and rapid turnover of staff within it, particularly at a senior level, causing instability in key roles. A source told the network that Sanders let friends know she prepared to exit by the end of the year. And it is going to be harder to find good people to replace them.
