Late night TV hosts unite to counter Trump punches

The skit came after Trump suggested the comedians weren't talented during a raucous rally in West Columbia South Carolina on Monday night

The Avengers-esque collaboration was captured in a joint cold open that will kick off both The Late Show and The Tonight Show this evening (an apparent late-night first).

He also said that he recently had to tell Fallon to "be a man" and not apologize for messing up Trump's hair during a 2016 appearance. Not only did he call Fallon a "lost soul", he added that Colbert was a "lowlife", and that Jimmy Kimmel was "terrible". Stephen then replied with "Hey lost soul, be a man", which is in reference to Trump's other diss following Jimmy's hair comment.

"Hey, low-life!" says Fallon, 43, who seemed to be referring to Trump's reported name for the CBS host at the rally. "That's Conan." Then he brought Conan onto the call.

"If we're not careful, this could start to get ugly", he says. "If I couldn't I'd be in big trouble ... they're not talented people".

Once Fallon and Colbert fill in Conan, who appears to be shaving, on their discussion, he responds: "President who?" "Did you see Trump's rally last night?"

"Red Hen!" Colbert said, closing the segment and leading into the opening credits.

Colbert played a clip of Trump speaking about immigration policy following the decision.

"Hey stop stealing your ideas from the sign on Melania's door", Colbert quipped.

"He went after Jimmy Fallon".

The video ends with Colbert rebranding his show as The Late Show with the Guy on CBS, a amusing ending to a very amusing video that makes us want to see more late-night team-ups down the line.

Colbert responded by saying it didn't sound like something Trump would say.

"Hey, Mr. President, I will not stand here and let you talk that way about James Corden", Colbert declared, referencing the British late-night host who also has a show on CBS.

"Oh to which I say, no talent?"

In the sketch, Colbert is writing his monologue, only to be interrupted by a video call from Fallon.
