Wimbledon: How the Djokovic-Nadal semi-final will be won - and lost

Juan Martin del Potro

World number one Nadal, the 2008 and 2010 champion at the All England Club, trails Djokovic, the 2011, 2014 and 2015 victor, 26-25 in a rivalry which began at Roland Garros 12 years ago.

The victor will play either John Isner or Kevin Anderson in Sunday's final.

Which TV channels will broadcast the Wimbledon 2018 Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal semi-final match?

Our recommended way to watch Nadal vs Djokovic online without cable is via Hulu Live TV with Wimbledon coverage.

"It took me two or three months and that was frustrating that I wasn't able to perform the game that I was used to and the level of tennis I wanted to play". "That's a big thing".

Strokes of Genius is a world-class documentary capturing the historic 13-year rivalry between tennis icons Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Isner, who leads Anderson 8-3 in past meetings, is making his debut in the final four of a Grand Slam tournament in his 41st appearance at one.

World No 1 Nadal, the 2008 and 2010 champion at the All England Club, trails Djokovic, the 2011, 2014 and 2015 victor, 26-25 in a rivalry which began at Roland Garros 12 years ago.

"Always it is a big challenge to face Novak", Nadal said. His quarterfinal win over Kei Nishikori was a dominant display, as he hit 40 winners to just 21 unforced errors, won 85 percent of his first-serve points and broke Nishikori seven times.

"It´s not good for me".

But my goal is to try to play very well. "In some ways he deserves to go through too".

"Friday is another important match against opponent that is one of the most hard ones that you can face".

"Sorry to Juan Martin, he´s an awesome opponent and player".

A match which has gone down in the record books as the longest Grand Slam final, lasting five hours and 53 minutes - and finishing at 1.37am - before Djokovic prevailed. Quite how much of this was spent by Nadal re-arranging bottles, or procrastinating in advance of points is up for debate, but in all seriousness, this does demonstrate the test on players bodies.

He led 40-15 but both match points went begging. Nadal is through to a Grand Slam semi-final for the fifth time since turning 30 while Djokovic has reached the last-four at a major for the first time since his 30th birthday.

Isner's grass data over the last two years is also marginally better than Anderson's, so he does look to hold a slight edge in his quest to reach his first ever Grand Slam final.
