Puel confident Manchester United target Maguire will not leave Leicester

Marcos Rojo could be on his way out of Old Trafford

He is a very good player for us.

It is understood United valued the player, who starred in England's World Cup campaign, at around £65m but Puel is certain the 25-year-old will remain at the club.

Reports from England claim that Maguire has told his club he wanted to move, but would not be forcing an exit at the King Power Stadium. The towering centre-back impressed with Colombia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and United consider him more than a viable alternative in case negotiations for Maguire fail. "We saw his progress during the second half of the season".

"If we have another surprise before the end of the pre-season, it will be tough". "He was angry about being without his global players and the difficulty to prepare his game", he told reporters.

"I think we can keep both players - it is crucial for us", the Leicester Mercury quote him as saying.

'To change the scene before the start of the season is not possible, ' he added. "He (Maguire) can continue to perform with Leicester and improve and that is the important thing always with a young player".

Speaking on the Red Devils' tour of the United States earlier this week, the Portuguese suggested that Leicester were in a "much better position" than his side ahead of the August 10 clash at Old Trafford. Jurgen Klopp hopes Sadio Mane will sign a new deal, while Spurs do nothing.

The Red Devils have endured a hard summer so far, missing out on several targets and failing to get want-away stars such as Anthony Martial and Matteo Darmian off the books.

Harry definitely had an outstanding World Cup and looks the part but it would be a stretch to say he fits all three characteristics simultaneously.
