Intel Core i9-9900K and i7-9700K turbo clocks impress

According to wccftech the range will arrive on the 1st October with Intel planning a further refresh in 2019

They won't be the company's Cannon Lake chips based on the 10nm process as they have been delayed until next year. The new processors will feature faster speeds and even more cores, thanks to improvements in the 14nm process node.

Intel's upcoming Core i9-9900K will have an all-core boost of 4.6GHz meaning we'll see a full 16-threaded CPU with all 16 of its threads at 4.6GHz, a huge leap over the 4GHz ceiling on the Ryzen 7 2700X.

Details of Intel's next generation of processors have leaked.

According to WCCFTech's sources, the new Intel chips are on track for an October 1st reveal.

Alongside the Core i9-9900K, Intel will reportedly launch the Core i7-9700K as the first eight-core Core i7 mainstream desktop processor with clock speeds ranging from 3.6GHz to 4.9GHz. It may also feature 16 MB of L3 cache and Intel UHD 620 graphics.

The Core i7-9700K, on the other hand, would be the first mainstream 8 core processor. First to be launched will be the company's unlocked, overclockable processors. Intel is also reportedly preparing the Core i5-9600K as its new budget offering, with six cores and six threads. The chip is said to have 12MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 95W. More 9th generation chips should be coming early next year though. That means a relatively lower 4.6 GHz when doing 6 to 8 core processes. The report notes that Asus, ASRock, MSI, and Gigabyte have all confirmed support for Intel's 9000 series on the entire 300-series motherboards lineup.
