Alex Jones takes his show to the capitol, tussles with a senator

Alex Jones calls Marco Rubio 'frat boy' and 'a little gangster thug' after crashing interview

Jones, who is the controversial InfoWars founder, repeatedly interrupted Rubio while he was attempting to answer questions from reporters during a recess in the Senate Intelligence Committee's hearing on foreign use of social media to influence United States politics.

Rubio was speaking to reporters Wednesday when Jones approached him and began asking questions. He's so mad! You won't silence me.

When Jones pats Rubio on the back, Rubio says, "Don't touch me again". Jack Dorsey didn't take me off Twitter.

"You're not gonna get arrested", Rubio told him.

"Oh, he'll beat me up", Jones said in a surprised tone.

Rubio was in the midst of talking about the same thing he focused on inside the hearing room, i.e. social media sites needed to maintain a commitment to free expression to prevent authoritarian governments from using them to stifle internal dissent.

Dozens of protesters roamed Capitol Hill on Wednesday to disrupt the second day of confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump's nominee to the Supreme Court. "There goes Rubio, little punk", Jones said.

"The media ran a hoax", Jones told CNBC's Julia Boorstin. "What about the Democrats purging conservatives", Jones said, cutting off Rubio's answer to a journalist with CNBC. "Little frat boy here".

Twitter announced Thursday that it has permanently suspended accounts for conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his website InfoWars, citing abusive behavior.

"Who's this guy, why are you platforming him?"

Rubio gamely tried to ignore the interruption, but seconds later, when Jones touched his shoulder, Rubio turned to him with an icy glare.

Jones, who claims he has been censored, said he was in Washington to "face his accusers" and demand that conservative and libertarian voices be heard. He repeatedly talked over Mr. Rubio's answers about Facebook and Twitter.

Jones - who has argued that 9/11 was an "inside job" and that the Sandy Hook school shooting was staged - continued to lash out at Rubio. You are not going to silence America. "Go back to your bathhouse", Jones shouted back. Some of the parents of the victims have sued Jones for mental and emotional distress.
