Kavanaugh Leaves Fox Host's Jaw on Floor With 'Virgin' Confession Amid Allegations

Dozens of angry protesters were arrested at the Capitol Hill offices of multiple senators as opposition to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh grew

"They locked the door and played loud music, precluding any successful attempts to yell for help", Ford said in her letter.

Plunging into the high-stakes battle over the future of the court, Trump rejected a claim by Deborah Ramirez that Kavanaugh was the person who dropped his trousers and thrust his penis in her face at an alcohol-fuelled Yale University dorm party about 35 years ago.

"What I know is I've never sexually assaulted anyone", Kavanaugh said in the interview, which was conducted alongside his wife, Ashley.

Trump dismissed allegations that have surfaced against Kavanaugh as "a con game" by Democrats in remarks to reporters during a meeting with Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez at the United Nations.

While her party's leaders are plowing ahead with their support for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Republican Sen.

Mr Trump said Democrats are "working hard to destroy" Mr Kavanaugh.

"There's a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate but I am with Judge Kavanaugh", Trump said in NY.

Grassley told TPM: "The attorney is a staff counsel, hired just like all the other lawyers we hired for the Supreme Court, and we have done it because we want to depoliticize the whole process, like the Democrats politicized the Anita Hill thing".

Kavanaugh told Fox News that the claims against him were false, that he never attended a party like the one Blasey Ford described, and that he has never sexually assaulted anyone.

The second woman, Deborah Ramirez, has accused Mr Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her at a Yale dormitory party.

Ramirez offered her account of sexual assault to the New Yorker magazine. She went on to allege that Kavanaugh took down his trousers and " put his penis in Debbie's face". Denying the allegations against him, he vowed that he won't be "pushed out" of the confirmation process.

Brett Kavanaugh was in his teens at the time of the alleged assaults, and some of the messaging by his political allies suggests that sexual misconduct and sexual harassment are no big deal.

Democrats are demanding a delay in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing set for Thursday where Kavanaugh and another accuser are scheduled to testify.

Mormon Women for Ethical Government, which is not affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said the allegations are serious and the Senate shouldn't rush Kavanaugh's vote.

In a separate interview on MSNBC, White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah said, "We believe Judge Kavanaugh, clear, under penalty of perjury, called for a hearing last week".

"We certainly hope he's going to be confirmed, and quickly".

White House spokeswoman Kerri Kupec called the new allegation part of a "coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats created to tear down a good man". Brett Kavanaugh is an absolutely outstanding person.

Protesters opposing Kavanaugh's confirmation held rallies in Washington, New York, Philadelphia and elsewhere.

Republicans face a narrow path to confirmation for Kavanaugh, which could be derailed by a few defections from their own party. The panel's Democratic senators, four women and six men, were expected to question Ford and Kavanaugh but those details were still not final, Senator Dick Durbin said.
