Smash Bros. Ultimate Gets Two Final New Fighters, Ken And Incineroar

Watch the Final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct Live!

The Smash Bros Ultimate final character select screen has been revealed, with the game's final roster being announced during today's Nintendo Direct. Additionally, a new trailer of the game was released, showcasing a hint of the backstory for the game's new story mode dubbed, "World of Light".

Ken will be an echo fighter for Ryu, meaning he'll be essentially the same with a different appearance and animations, series creator Masahiro Sakurai said in Thursday's Nintendo Direct livestream.

Additionally, a featured song as well as an overview of the world map of the game are highlighted.

Incineroar is a Fire/Dark type Pokemon and the final evolved form of Litten, one of the three starters from Pokemon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It also announced Spirits would replace collectible trophies.

Before unlocking any characters in the game, players will start with seven to choose from, and will end up with 74 once they're finished recruiting every addition. As a result, Nintendo didn't confirm what any of the DLC actually is.

Additionally, these "spirits" will also be used to power up your added amiibo fighters.

Nintendo also promised future expansions of more characters through downloadable fighter passes. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch is already the best-selling game on Amazon, even before the title's official release on December 7.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will include every single fighter ever featured in the series' almost two-decade run, making it one of the biggest crossover events in gaming history. Winning battles against them could earn you spirits, new support characters that buff your fighter's abilities and grant them additional ones when you're in a regular battle, or perhaps just unlock more characters for adventure mode.

As of now, there's no telling if those who miss out on the purchase window of Super Smash Bros.
