Bayern Raise Offer To Chelsea For Callum Hudson-Odoi To $44.6M

Callum Hudson-Odoi Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Callum Hudson-Odoi's future at Chelsea has come under further threat with Bayern Munich offering £35 million for the teenage winger.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri reiterated his desire to keep Hudson-Odoi at the club after handing the player another opportunity to play in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg defeat to Tottenham on Tuesday.

The German giants have been working overtime in a bid to snap up Hudson-Odoi, who has just 18 months left on his contract at Chelsea and who has set his heart on a switch to the Allianz Arena.

"He is very young, but now he is improving, especially in the defensive phase".

The Bavarians' commitment to signing the 18-year-old has played a big part in the move.

Sarri said Hudson-Odoi is now ready to compete for a starting spot with the likes of Willian and Pedro.

Sarri explained: "Alvaro (Morata) had a little problem with his hamstring in training this morning, so we preferred him to rest".

The Chelsea FC talent made two assists in the FA Cup win at Stamford Bridge to help the west London side book their place in the next round.

Should he leave he would follow the likes of Jadon Sancho, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, and Reiss Nelson, who is loan at Hoffenheim from Arsenal, by getting the chance to prove his worth in first-team action in the Bundesliga. "I don't know, maybe he doesn't read anything". In my opinion, he's a player we would definitely like to have.

Hudson-Odoi looks ever more likely to be leaving Stamford Bridge but will Chelsea regret letting it get to this point?

Sarri added that Chelsea would need to sign a replacement for Fabregas in January but would not comment on speculation linking them with Cagliari's Nicolo Barella.

"We have very important players in the same position, sometimes he will be on the bench - as Willian, as Pedro - but now I can start to consider him at the same level", the Chelsea manager said.

"With the midfielders we are in trouble as, without Cesc, we only have five", he said.
